Summer Update
Between vacation, 4th of July and various family activities I have had far less time to keep updates going in the past couple of weeks. I have also been working on a variety of different things like economics updates and some political analysis. So I expect that over the next few months as the political landscape warms up there will be more of that working itself into this site.
There has been a lot of news about the United States having a very warm year and that is certainly true, but overall the Earth itself is not unusually warm this year. There will be some information coming soon about this. I have discussed many times how the weather where people live influences their view of climate and this is the type of year that will get lots of attention because it has been a hot summer in many places.
More to come soon.

Re: “overall the Earth itself is not unusually warm this year”
NOAA disagrees.

“The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for January–May 2012 was the 11th warmest on record …”
Having read the first half of “Inconvenient Skeptic” I found the following paper extremely interesting; and mayalso be to you John if it hasn’t already come to your attention.
